Living in a house along the Columbia River in Portland, OR with my life partner David and our four cats. This is my journal of the rollercoaster ride that is our lives, observations of things I find interesting and food, food and more food.

Here's a thought
Is the clothing industry complicit in the obesity of America? David and I bacame quite the prokers over our years together. No, it wasn't to the point of lypo suction stage, but it was quite significant. I went from my sexy little 32" waist to a 40", and David from a 30" to a 36". OUCH!!. So, we changed our diet and eating habits (they are different) and we both managed to get to a 36" waist. We seem to be stuck there, but that's fine. So, we bought a bunch of new jeans at 36". This was about a year and a half ago. We have one pair of jeans (36") that were purchased, I gotta say, 5 years ago. Now, the most recent jeans purchases we both have to wear with belts because they are too baggy. Keep in mind that these are both the same style: Levi's original 501. I put on the pair that were purchased 5 years ago today. I did not have to wear a belt and actually, they were a little snug about the waist. Point is, are clothing manufactureres mislabeling their product in an effort to make the American public think they are getting thinner?
