All Is Not Lost

On our way back from Twin Falls; David starts talking about doing something between his terms.  He mentions camping (too cold), or going to the coast (been there, done that).  I just let him talk about what would be a nice little trip to take.  So, this morning, I glance over at his computer and he has the Reserve America site up.  He's looking at camp sites.  I think to myself, we can do better than that.  So, I pull up a map of the Puget Sound.  Look to see what there is to see.  And, then I remember, the San Juan Islands.  We have been talking about going up there ever since we moved to Portland 15 years ago.  So, I say, "How about a trip to the Sound?"

Lo, and behold before you know it we're mapping our trip to the San Juan Islands.  Next thing you know we have hotel reservation, a whale watching tour reservation and a plan, but no REAL schedule.  Yes, we are having a vacation.  And, as much as we would love to see our friends in Austin, this trip is all about us.  We have been together for 16 years and have not once taken a trip that did not involve family.  This our time, dammit, and we're gonna take it.

This time we will have the camera always at the ready. LOL
