Pedicures

One of things that David and I wanted to do when we were in Austin was go with our friends to get pedicures.  To this end neither one of us have clipped our toenails for a while.  Needless to say, our little pedicure plan was not coming to fruition.  So, seeing as our feet were not looking up to snuff, we decided to go yesterday and get them taken care of. We don't have a regular place that we like to go because we usually go with friends and go to the place they think is the bomb.  The last time we went with one our friends to her specific nail salon the lady that did my pedicure actually made my toes bleed.  It was not a very pleasant experience, to say the least.

However, we now have a place that we like and will make our regular (hopefully, once a month) stop.  It's called Vogue Nails on Woodstock.  It's a bit of a drive, but worth it.  They aren't the cheapest place in town, but I got the best pedicure I have ever had there. The ladies are all friendly and they take their time to do the job right. They also offer wine if one were to be so inclined.  They also have a menu of their services that describes everything you get, how much it costs and how long it will take.  We went with the Deluxe pedicure.  Soak in the foot bath for a while, then they do you toes and feet.  Then, you get a sea salt exfoliating rub that is so awesome.  After that you get a foot and calf massage.  Then, they put your feet in plastic bags with this (almost too) warm gel inside and wrap your legs in warm towels.  All this took a little over an hour, but the price was only $35.00 and well worth it.

Unfortunately, they don't have a web site.

Another great thing about this place is that it is near our favorite Chinese restaurant, so we got to get some awesome eats yesterday as well.  The place is called Wong's Kitchen.  And their lunch specials are awesome.  For $6.95 I got more sweet and sour chicken than I could eat, a healthy sccoop of pork fried rice,  an awesome egg roll and egg flower soup.  If you get the chance go there.  You won't be disappointed.
