Fariries on a ferry heading to Friday Harbor
We are having a very relaxing, although chilly, time on the ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. A nice couple on the ferry took this photo for us. They were wearing t-shirts that advertised Leavenworth, WA. It's a little Scandanavian town west of Seattle. They said it was a great place to visit, so we will definitely make it a destination this summer.

I would have to say that this was some of the best country fried steak I have ever had. We went the next day for lunch and were not disappointed there either. Service was awesome, prices reasonable and the food fantastic. A must for the hungry traveler.
Then we decided to tour the island. Along the way we picked up a hitchhiker. She actually lives on the island and was on her way to a friends house. She tried to get us to drop her off at the end of the road where her friend lives, but we offered to take her down the side road that we probably would not have driven. I'm glad we did because we passed by Egg Lake.
Lily pads on Egg Lake. No frogs chirping, but you just know they are here in abundance.
So bittersweet. A lonely row boat on the dock at Egg Lake.
The San Juan Island Airfield. You can charter one these planes for an aerial tour of the island
The Marina at Friday Harbor
Pacific Madrona. We loved the way the bark peeled on this tree and the color of the wood underneath.
View of the Salish Sea. I think I gave David a heart attack when I swerved off the road to get this shot. Not that I'm trying to kill him or anything.
