Western Tanager

Aside from the Baltimore Oriole, I think this is one of the most beautiful birds in the world.

I saw one a few weeks ago and they usually don't hang around for very long because they like to be up in the foothills as opposed to being in the valley.  But, it has been two weeks since my first sighting and yesterday I saw the female.  I think, and hope, that they are here to stay this year.  It's such a beautiful sight to behold.
