Whale Watching

The real reason we came to San Juan Island.  Our anniversary was on the 21st and we decided that that would be the day for our whale watching adventure.  Lesson from the ferry trips was to dress warmly.  I only had my hoodie and so it was decided that warmer outerwear was a necessity.  The whale watching tour place had reversible fleece-lined jackets that would have sufficed, but they were $40 a piece.  So, we decided to wander around and see what else may be available. We're glad we did.  We went to a little shop in The Cannery building and they were having a clearance on their winter apparal.  We found these.

On sale for 2 for $50.00.  The only difference besides the price was these say 'Friday Harbor' instead of Western Prince (the whale watching tour company).  and did they ever keep us toasty warm on the tour.

So, here we go on our whale watching adventure.  Here is the boat we decided to take.

And here is the one that made us say 'Hell, no!'

And here are the beautiful Orcas

I decided to use the photos sent to us by one of the naturalists who were the guides on our tour.  David and I tried to take our own pictures, but we are not seafaring folk and our cameras just weren't good enough to get great shots like these.
